The international Femprenership Workshop is coming to Nigeria. Sprinters International famous for coaching and mentoring female entrepreneurs is organising a three day hackathon, in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. This event promises to be packed with exThe first event will be held in Lagos from 31st July to 2nd August, 2017, while the second workshop will take place in Abuja from 4th to 6th August 2017. The 3-day Femprenership Workshop, is designed to support more women in the world of technology and entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurship development training will also encourage attitude change to show women that being a female leader is not scary and is open for everyone.
The event will be organised by Sprinters Nigeria in collaboration with BHub Abuja well know supporting and promoting start-up and Brainiacs STEM and Robotics an educational technology (edtech) and Internet of Things (IoT) start-up committed to providing top quality learning events to power the next generation of techno-preneurs in Africa.
“Sprinters Global are coming to Nigeria to host a program to support women in technology and entrepreneurship. I am their strategic partner for Nigeria,” said startup promoter, Mohammed Ibrahim Jega to officially announce plans for the event in the country.
An impressive entourage of speakers will share their know-how with the participants. Confirmed are Eniola Mafe, Programs Manager at DNPI who was named one of the 99 most influential foreign policy leaders under the age of 33, by Diplomatic Courier and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy in 2011 and one of the 13 Young African Business/Economic Leaders to watch in 2013 by Ventures Africa Magazine; and Patrick Gaincko, CEO & Founder of the GainXperience, speaker and adviser to internationally established companies on market entry, growth strategy, consumer trends monitoring, and market opportunity identification. Gaincko has been a speaker at several international events, including the Harvard Africa Business Conference(USA), as well as the Made in Africa Week at Microsoft New York (USA).
Others speakers are Tosin Durotoye, an entrepreneur with extensive knowledge in grant management and community development; Chibuikem Agbaegbu, an entrepreneur, researcher and renewable energy advocate with strong knowledge and experience in the renewable energy industry on an international level, pushing for innovation in the clean energy sector, and Ify Malo, a qualified attorney, founder of Power For All in Nigeria and CEO of Clean Tech Hub and the Energy Innovation Center, Abuja with an extensive background in policy and strategy development. Many other speakers are expected to join The Sprinters Experience.
To be considered for the Women Techmakers Udacity Scholarship, successful applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time the application is submitted
- Have fluency or near-fluency in English
- Be a woman
- Pay required fees according to deadlines
How can I apply and what is the process?
- Apply and tell us about your motivation why you want to take part in the Sprinters Experience Workshop and what benefit you can share with the community of Fempreneurs together with your Application Fee of ₦ 5,000. Deadline by June 30th, 2017 (ensure to indicate your choice of location – Lagos or Abuja)
- By July 7th, 2017 you will receive a response whether you have been accepted
- Pay your Participation Fee of ₦ 20,000 by July 15th, 2017 to reserve your spot. The fee will include all workshops, food & beverages, working supplies, yoga class, and access to the gala in Abuja on August 8th, 2017. (transport to attend the gala is not included)
