Introduction to Internet of Things Development with Raspberry Pi
May 29, 2017 @ 9:00 am - May 30, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
Brainiacs Robotics in partnership with Startup Gamji is bringing a blockbuster – Introduction to Internet of things [IoT] development to the city of learning.
Course objectives: Design, create and deploy a function IoT device using Raspberry Pi platforms.
About the Course
There is an intense hype in the technology world about “Internet of Things” (IoT) and the opportunities it presented to our highly dynamic world. The rapid drop in the prices of hardware components is allowing people to design innovative products using open technology. In this course, participants will have the opportunity to learn about various applications of IoT to society, overview of current components used for typical IoT devices and the trend for the future. The course will highlight typical considerations, constraints and interfaces between the physical world, the cloud and users and the functionality of a connected system.
The following key topics will be covered during the one day Master Class:
- What is the Internet of Things (IoT)?
- Overview of Embedded Systems.
- Hardware and Software for IoT
- Raspberry Pi Platform and Raspberry Pi Board
- Cloud Computing – Azure cloud Platform
- Project 1: Connecting your Raspberry Pi2 or Pi3 to the Azure IoT Suite Remote Home Monitoring Solution
- Project 2: IoT for Smart Farm.
Unlike taking course like this via the internet, learner will have the opportunity to work in small groups with hardware components. At the end of the course, learners will take an online quiz to further gauge their understanding of the IoT development. Learners will have all source codes deployed during the course and other relevant material to help students in their journeys towards successful IoT deployments. All students will also get a 20% discount voucher to spend on Brainiacs Robotics hardware store.
For students currently enrolled in any accredited monotechnic, polytechnic, college of education and university can join Brainiacs Hardware Club for free to enable them borrow hardware for their projects (subject to availability) if they can secure a faculty surety. Brainiacs team can also provide mentorship to students toward their final projects.
